Doctors are being accused of over-prescribing reflux medication for babies.

New research shows that in many cases the treatment could be doing more harm than good.

It has been discovered that medications rarely help and have pretty harmful side affects like gastrointestinal infections and pneumonia.

More than 40% of babies suffering reflux are prescribed treatment.

If your baby is not thriving then it is recommended that you chat to your doctor about seeing a specialist who can help find any underlining causes.

Oh gosh, both my boys suffered silent reflux. It was horrible! I must admit the medication was a bit hit & miss for us.

  • Reflux is such an awful thing for babies and the parents to suffer. I’ve never experienced it myself, but I have seen others go through it

  • I know one baby that had very severe reflux. Sometimes she would scream so much she would be gasping for air and the end of her cry would be like a shrill squeak. She had to be rushed to hospital and monitored for a few hours on more than one occasion after she started to turn blue. She had to have specially prepared reflux medication or she may not be here with us now.
