The Duchess of Cambridge has appealed to children struggling with mental health issues to take care of themselves and seek help.
In a new video, filmed during a visit to the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families charity, Kate stresses the importance of how a “simple conversation can make things better”.
“Mental health is how we feel and think. Things that can’t really be seen, but that affect us every day and talking about them can feel difficult,” the 35-year-old Royal says.
She explains how an animation released by the charity and targeted at children, will help viewers learn how to “talk about our mental health”.
“What to say and who to talk to when we have feelings that are too big to manage on our own,” she continues.
“And how to listen and help if one of our friends is finding things difficult.
“Sometimes, it’s just a simple conversation that can make things better.”
A very important discussion we should all regularly have with our children!
