Am I right in saying that every mum loves a recipe that’s 1: quick to make, 2: uses ingredients you’re likely to have at home and 3: is tasty and delicious?

We all have our staple meals on hand for a quick weeknight dinner, or an afternoon snack for the kids, and now you might have a few more staples to add to your collection.

We’ve teamed up with the lovely folks at D’Orsogna, who have shared some easy and delicious ham recipes that we know you’ll love. I personally love ham, because it’s such a multipurpose ingredient and best of all it’s a meat that doesn’t have to be cooked to be consumed. Serve it on a grazing platter, pop it on a sandwich, fry it up in an omlet or use it in a weeknight meal.

What I love in particular about the D’Orsogna Jarrah Honey ham, is that it’s made from 100% Australian Pork. It also has accolades to its name, being the winner of the 2019/20 best Nationally Available Australian Ham in the Australian PorkMark Ham Awards (is all this talk of ham making you hungry as well?)

D’Orsogna have been making quality ham for more than 70 years, so they know some good ham recipes, and today I’d like to share some of my favourites with you!

Love a dish that’s creamy, with flavours of roasted pumpkin cooked together with Jarrah Honey Ham?

This Jarrah Honey Ham and Pumpkin Rosettes recipe is one that you can serve up as a midweek meal, or even to impress party guests on a weekend (when it comes time to party again that is!). Now that it’s starting to get cooler, this baked dish is perfect for a cool night with a glass of red on the side! Similar to cannelloni, the rosettes are made with lasagne sheets that are filled with delicious ingredients and topped with a creamy pumpkin sauce. This recipe includes D’Orsogna’s succulent and tasty Jarrah Honey Ham off the Bone.

Mexican that’s quick and easy? Yes please!

The Honey Mustard Ham & Pulled Chicken Quesadilla recipe will be enjoyed by the whole family, I know my family love it! Easy to cook and even easier to share, this recipe is a great afternoon snack or midweek dinner if you serve it up with some yummy nachos on the side. Made with D’Orsogna’s Flame Roasted Sweet Honey Mustard Ham, you only need to chop up a few ingredients before frying off your Quesadilla’s in a pan. It’s also a great recipe for the kids to help with, because it’s really fun to make. Similar to making a pizza, simply sprinkle your ingredients over the tortilla bread, before sandwiching it with another piece of tortilla and frying it off. Think melted cheese, tasty charred corn salsa, and some sour cream on top – yum, yum and yum!

So there you have it, two delicious ham recipes that you can make one night this week or over the weekend!

We really think you and your family are going to enjoy these recipes, and what better time to try new meal ideas than at home in isolation. Shop the D’Orsogna freshly sliced ham at Woolworths Deli Counters nationally now.

Mouths of Mums have teamed up with D’Orsogna to bring you this sponsored post. The D’Orsogna family has been crafting quality hams, bacon and continental products for more than 70 years. They’re still 100% Australian owned and WA based, and loved by consumers right across our great country.

  • While it sounds like bliss for us, 2 weeks away with nothing to do. The actual experience is anything but that. Knowing someone who had to hotel isolate I wouldn\’t have wanted to trade places – no fresh air, food that was appalling and overpriced, security guards walking the hallways, but no daily check ins to make sure the occupants behind the doors were actually ok. The idea behind it great the execution awful.

    • Not sure what it posted this on the ham post it was meant for the article on the ‘supposed 2 week free vacation’

      • Ha. Ha. Yes, I noticed there was a mistake! :-)
