What a horrible tragedy. Very sad 🙁

Would be interesting to see the outcome of this as it has long term effects on many woman

I prefer to be in a hospital where experts are there to monitor and treat you

It’s the thought of things like this, things that can go wrong that will require medical intervention in a hurry, that put me right off home births

I heard of a Mother who was haemorraging and also needed stitches. They left her alone in her room for over 2 hours before they returned to do the suturing. They also left her baby in with her but not close enough for her to be able to move her arm to touch him. She had to have blood transfusions.
One very good reason not to have a home birth.

This is very scary. But it’s not only home births that this can happen. I know someone who was losing a lot of blood following a csection and the nurses said it was normal when it wasn’t. She had to have a hysterectomy to save her life

  But at least she was in a hospital where medical intervention was on hand to help. Sure, it can happen to anyone, it’s having he on hand that makes the difference
