A five-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after he was hit by him mum’s car in the driveway of their home in Sydney’s north-west this afternoon.

The 41-year-old woman was driving her car in the driveway of their home when it struck the boy just before 5pm, reports 9 news.

The woman then proceeded to take her son to hospital but stopped on Crane Road in Castle Hill to seek assistance from NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The boy was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital.

His injuries are unknown.

The Hills Local Area Command police officers and paramedics were in attendance. Inquiries are ongoing.

  • Hope they are both OK. A person can easily go into shock after a traumatic incident, not necessarily an accident. It wish rear sensor signals were standard on all cars including down low. Some of the more expensive vehicles also have them at the front too. They have quite a loud beep too.

  • I hope the boys injuries are not too serious, for all concerned, the mother too- who would always blame herself for what happened. Even though it was a horrible accident!
