Hello!

There are pampered pooches, and then there are designer Gucci dogs, darrrling. The just-launched Gucci Pet Collection is every haute couture hound’s dream come true – with eye-watering price tags to boot.

Gucci describes its new pet collection as ‘infusing the everyday with a magical aura’ with pieces that ‘allow each animal’s personality to shine as an ode to the Creative Director’s vision of individuality’. Did we mention everything is pretty pricey??

From ready-to-wear, accessories and decor the collection includes everything from a cloche Bowl Cover With Strawberry, $1350 which can be personalised with bespoke engraving in store, to an ‘intricately constructed’ Waste Bag Holder, $630 – which to you and I is a poop bag holder.

There’s also the porcelain Pet Herbarium print bowl, $1000 and a range of pet clothing, including the Pet GG Coat, $1390Pet wool jumper with strawberries, $685 and Pet wool hat, $570.

But the absolute jewels of the collection are the made-to-order Pet Beds, $12,700, which take up to 16 weeks to deliver.

Gucci’s trademark patterns and prints adorn the collection which has been ‘crafted from animal-free raw materials that are primarily from sustainable, renewable and bio-based sources’.

  • I think pets don’t need such kind accessories.

  • I love animals, but I don’t think dogs care that there bed is designer! I guess to some people like celebs though, this is really just pocket change to them.

  • these are some pampered pooches!

  • Ummm, that’s a hard pass for me. The phrase ‘more money then sense’ comes to mind

  • I could never justify that price tag on myself, let alone my pets!

    Reply

  • Ah… Nope lol

  • I love my dog but absolutely no way. Seems very excessive especially when there are so many families struggling out there.

  • Um, no thanks. My dog chewed off his cheap Reject Shop jacket. I don’t buy myself Gucci so there’s no way I’d be spending that money on my dog, even if I do consider him family.

    • Dogs sure do like to chew lots of things!

  • I’m sorry but if you’re spending that kind of money on a dog bed you need to take a good hard look at yourself, your priorities and your life.

  • Absolutely ridiculous !

  • Oh God, the rich sure do spend outrageously on their pets. I guess it’s good that they love their pets, but really

  • Some people will spend any amount of money on their pets and not just cats and dogs

    Reply

  • Utterly ridiculous! Dogs don’t care about fashion. It’s just another way to show our greed while people are literally starving and homeless.

    Reply

  • They look great but I don’t think my dog would appreciate them or even care for them.
I’m guessing that the people who do buy this kind of thing and have the money to buy it, definitely aren’t the people that I spend time with. If only I could afford it!

  • My dog is already pampered- with love and affection. She gets lots of things but spending so much on fancy bowls etc? I’d prefer to spend the money on insurance for her and the best medical help she would need
