How to do an upside down french braid - Mouths of Mums

The upside down french braid is an easy way to dress up a bun and it looks amazing.

Tip hair upside down and get a small section of hair to begin braid.
Add a small amount of hair every time you cross over like a normal braid.
Continue the braid until you are half way up the head and tie off.
Place all the hair into a high pony tail.
Create a bun and your style is complete.

Love it. The only thing I don’t like is the bun on the head, my girls don’t want that. And when you end it with a tail or braid it hangs in front of the up side down french braid….

What a beautiful alternative. Would look amazing anytime but especially for a formal occasion. Everyone will be so impressed. I’ve never been able to do french braiding but my daughter will love it.

Have to show it to my daughter. My daughter started to do french braids in her own hair, she absolutely does a great job.

It’s very impressive looking and not as difficult as I expected. My daughter would have a go, I would have to hang my head upside down though I reckon

It looks wonderful – but first you have to have a lot of thick luxurious hair. That’s the bit that’s missing for me.
