This is 100% correct. You love your kid so you can be forgiving but the World doesnt love your kid and once they get out into the big wide world they will ahve a super tough time if they think everything is going to go their way all the time.

I dunno, I think you can be a friend and a parent too. I had limited issues with my kids by parenting this way

A great article, I am a grandmother now, but I totally agree with this mother your children have plenty of friends, it is our job to be their parents. Children need boundaries and they may not like it, but I feel they expect it and secretly appreciate it. As my children are adults now they are parenting as I did, not friends just mum.

I agree. Kids seem rather entitled these days and this video is a good reminder that parenting is tough and kids don’t often like it. I love how honest and upfront she is too!

I love this! My 2.5 year old runs our house, it is time that I start being his mum rather than giving in to him to make life easier.

How right you are. My children were parented in this manner too and now they are adults we can be buddies and friends but not while they were growing up.

Parenting children and not being buddies is the best gift you can give your children.

My children are grown and are awesome adults and yes this was the way they were parented as well.
You are their parent there to set rules and make sure they are kept, advise them, nurture them, teach them, comfort them, love them and the list goes on but you are at the end of the day their parent and this line should not be crossed.
