Hello!

Who doesn’t love scouring the As-Is section of IKEA stores on their way out? It’s where you can snap up ex-display furniture and homewares, discontinued items and pre-loved products. And now, you can shop it all from the comfort of home.

IKEA Australia has just launched As-Is Online, where you’ll be able to browse and reserve furniture and homewares in your local IKEA store’s As-Is section.

IKEA As Is Online

IKEA Queensland customers had the chance to trial the online store first from late April, but it’s now been rolled out across all 10 IKEA Australia stores.

Here’s how it works. You can browse the As-Is Online section of the IKEA website where you’ll find ‘gently used and ex-showroom displays, as well as pre-loved products returned through the Buy Back service’.

After you reserve your products online, you will have to head to your selected store to complete the purchase and collect your products from the As-Is area.

  • This sounds like a great idea especially if you cant be bothered trying to sell the items yourself. Its a smart move by IKEA who get you to spend more buying new pieces and they also get the make up on the old products for their trouble so for them its a win win

  • I love the ad-is section. but I think I’d want to see second hand items in person, not just online.

  • It’s perfect for those of us who don’t want (or find it difficult) to assemble furniture items and it does save you money. That is if you can get to an Ikea store.

  • What a great idea. I think 90% of our furniture at our house is second hand.

  • This is a really great idea. Not everyone can afford full price especially these days and this allows people to see what’s there before they visit the store which is handy ( especially if you live a long way away)
