If you’re a family looking for a new home that’s close to childcare options, there’s now a clever way to quickly narrow your options.

Australian childcare finder app KindiCare has partnered with property marketplace Domain, so users of both apps can see childcare options next to property listings.

Domain users are now able to view local childcare centres alongside sales and rental property listings, via the school catchment zone section. The childcare listings will also include KindiCare’s unique rating system, so parents can weigh up costs, quality and value for money.

KindiCare app users are also able to see properties for sale or rent from Domain in their local area, by searching through the property carousel.

So whether you’re in the market for a new home, or new childcare, both apps are making life a whole lot easier.

“If you look at findings from our latest School Zones Report, some school catchment zones are achieving 10 to 20 per cent more house price growth than the suburb they are located in, showing certain school catchment zones’ are in higher demand and commanding a premium price compared to properties outside of the zone,” explained Domain CEO Jason Pellegrino.

“It really demonstrates the importance education has on a property decision for families which can often lead to a lifestyle decision to move or purchase a property as a family’s needs change.”

KindiCare founder and CEO, Benjamin Balk added, “The two-way partnership with Domain will provide a better experience for Australian families on both Domain and KindiCare, as they will have full visibility over the quality, value for money and cost of their childcare options in any suburb across the country no matter where their early learning or property search journey begins.”

  • We are renting at the moment on a street with a school. Funnily enough it was the school I went to during primary.
Not sure if I want to send my kids there as for some reason I didn’t think it was the greatest school as when I went to high school there were girls from another school in the neighbouring suburb and they were ALL super smart compared to all of the other girls from other schools…
Would be good to live close to a primary school but also a high school so there’s not too much travel involved.

  • What a great partnership.
We purchased our house well before contemplating children, but I specifically remember the agent selling the house saying it was in a great school catchment. It did not sway our decision on the purchase, but I understand how it impacts some buyers. This partnership will make that just a little bit easier childcare is a consideration when purchasing.

  • Our family took schools into consideration when we moved.

  • I never thought to consider something like childcare when moving. I support there is a lot of competition out there for those reasons
