Kmart has released a wooden kids’ vlogger playset and it’s giving us cringey vibes.

Sorry Kmart, it’s not us, it’s you. We love your affordable decor and appliances (the Twin Air Fryer!!). We’re here for your cheap and cheerful makeup and stick on nails. And your toys are usually right up there on our ‘must-have list’. But we’re drawing the line at toys that help raise the next generation of baby TikTokers.

Kmart is releasing a six piece Wooden Vlogger Playset for kids, that includes a mobile phone, a camera, a selfie stick, a ring light and tripod, all bundled up in a handy baby vlogger canvas bag. Because: mini influencer goals.

And just in case your tot needs a well-deserved break from vlogging their daily life of nappy changes and highchair lunches, Kmart has also released a nine piece Wooden Babychino Set. It comes complete with a takeaway carry tray, marshmallows and cookies.

The sets have been getting a fair bit of attention on social media, with some labelling the vlogging set ‘sad’.

“100%. I find that incredibly disturbing!” one person commented.

“WTF is the world coming to?” wrote another.

“Let’s make children even more narcissistic than the previous generation! Not impressed by this Kmart attempt.”

“Seriously you want your toddler to start acting like a Instagram star, vlogging and have baby chinos?? What about mud pies and sand castles? This is what’s wrong with the world!” commented another.

“The online vlogger set is atrocious. Whoever came up with that idea for a toddler toy should be sacked,” wrote one Instagram follower.

But we have to admit, there are plenty of parents planning on snapping up one of these wooden sets for their wannabe baby social media stars.

  • I find it a bit sad that little kids even know what it is! It’s clearly aimed at maybe 3-4 year olds. My daughter has only really gotten into this stuff in the last year or so and she’s 7. Way too old for this set!

  • Ummmm, NO! Who came up with these ideas? Let children be children for as long as they possibly can.

  • Ew, no! The adult versions of bloggers are bad enough.

  • Really!?? Trying to turn our kids into mini adults, Doesn’t even look like all that much fun, More junk I think!

  • I generally have no issue with wooden toys, I really like them, but I won’t be buying any of these

  • I have no problem with this. We give them cleaning sets, make up sets etc so why not this as well? Freedom of choice.

  • Kids love to imitate what mum and dad do, so why not have these things available to buy. My daughter is 25, so a little beyond this, but I have no problem with any of it. If mum or dad take selfies or make vlogs or have takeaway coffee on the reg, why wouldn’t their kids want to imitate that. For me, it’s no different to buying a barbecue set and food and tools for that so kids can imitate their parents barbecuing.

  • I think the only positive thing about this toy, is that it’s wooden and can be recycled.
Poor choice of creative play Kmart
