The queen of the talk shows and possibly the world’s most recognisable women, Oprah Winfrey wrapped up her Australian tour in Sydney on Saturday night – stirring a frenzy among both her young and old fans.
A relaxed Oprah was mobbed by an excited group of fans as she enjoyed a relaxed lunch at Bondi’s trendy Icebergs restaurant. Taking it all in her stride, Oprah posed happily for photos with her star struck fans and seemed to relish the chance to speak with them.

Comfort and relaxation dominated Oprah’s dress code on this occasion, with an oversized shirt, thongs and sunnies hiding her eyes from the sun.
Being mobbed by fans is an occupational ‘hazard’ for Oprah. When she arrived in Sydney recently, she posed with excited fans for selfies – taking it all in her stride.
Oprah herself however does not call her viewers “fans”. In a recent interview with News Corp, she explained further, “I never call people ‘fans’ because a fan to me represents that I’m up here and you’re down there. There’s some disconnect of power,” Oprah continued, “So I never let anybody in my circle, anybody who watches or reads me are never my fans.”
