A new mother from Toronto has attributed a lightening bolt birthmark on her baby’s head to Harry Potter.

Tweeting JR Rowling, Jo Mark said “I read all the Harry Potter books while pregnant. This is my daughter Sofia with her #harrypottermark.”

Baby Sofia has a head of black hair, an adorable pout and a dark birthmark complete with a distinct lightning bolt shape.

JK Rowling was quick to reply, saying: “Well I’m not going to apologise because I think she looks beautiful.”

  • I think that’s beautiful to attribute a story to her special mark. It’ll be interesting to see how it changes as she grows. One of my kids has a mark that has just faded mostly away, while another has a mark that just grew with her. I tell her they are angel kisses.

Thats quite a story to tell as she grows up.
Would have been even more amazing if the Parents had decided to name her Harriet before she was born :)

  • Wow!! Such beautiful black curly hair. Her hair will prpbably cover her unique birthmark if she wants it to.
