Meet baby Caleb, the little miracle born after his pregnant mother was killed in a car smash in Hobart.

Father Daniel Stirling told Channel 7’s Sunday Night that baby Caleb was “just an image of Sarah”.

Sarah Paino, 24, died after her car was run into by a teenager driving an allegedly stolen car on January 22.

She was 32 weeks pregnant. The couple’s toddler son Jordan was also in the car and treated for minor injuries,

Mr Stirling was reunited with the emergency workers and doctors who rescued his boys for the program, which will air on Sunday.

“Thank you for saving my boy’s life,” he tells them, in tears.

Mr Stirling admitted he would never find anyone to replace his lost partner.

“I loved her, still do. I don’t think I’m going to find anyone that will come close to her. I don’t think I really want to,” he said.

  • THE THREE. OF THEM SHOULD GO DOWN FOR MURDER, BECCAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHH THEY DID – THEY MURDERED SARAH, AND LEFT BABY CALEB AND HIS BIG BROTHER, JORDAN MOTHERLESS !

In my view, these actions are unforgivable I don’t care how young they are, I I couldn’t care less if they were 10, they should be made accountable ! Life is looking pretty good I reckon. After all, they muurdeed a mother and a wife, no doubt a daughter and it goes on and on.

Her sons and her husband etc, now have a life sentence of their own to live. God help them.

    Rest in peace Sarah.

  • Its a beautiful miracle the boys both survived. They will continue to fill their Dad’s life with love. Its tragic to lose a wife and mother in one sudden moment. I wish the Stirling family all the best in the tough weeks ahead.

  • A tragic accident, a young Mum’s life lost. Two children have lost their Mum. Their Dad has lost the love of his life and Mum of his two beautiful children – one a newborn and it is a miracle he came into the world safely and will never know his Mum and the elder one may not remember her either. Hopefully he will remember nothing of the tragedy and never have flashbacks.
The driver should be detained, never be given parole or home detention.
He will probably drive unlicensed again if he is released. He shouyld be charged as an adult, the time added up for each charge, not served at the same time as each other.
I am glad Daniel was able to meet the emergency crews who attended the accident. Without them, Caleb would not be here today.

  • This is so heartbreaking and I’ve shed many tears over this tragedy. This should never have happened. Being pregnant myself, it hit home much harder. Especially being a local and Sarah and myself having mutual friends. Little Caleb is beautiful
