Melissa Little lost her entire family just two months ago after her husband Damien Little shot himself and his sons, Koda, four, and Hunter, 10 months, before driving off the Port Lincoln wharf. She has now posted a moving message online, thanking those who offered her support.

She shared the message on Facebook saying the support she had received had been outstanding and she was overwhelmed by people’s generosity.

“It is positivity that helps make each day for me more bearable,” she wrote.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for the financial contributions … words cannot express how thankful I am and the feeling of gratitude I hold within.”

“For those who knew Damien, Koda and Hunter personally, continue to cherish the memories of their happy times and happy faces.

“And for those who did not know them personally please understand how I wish my family to be remembered, the happy fun loving times.”

“Hug your loved ones tight. Tell them how much you love them and never let them go,” she said.

  • i reckon that one day, she will write a book and gain more awareness and understanding. poor lady

  • I can’t imagine how you would begin to grieve a loss like this. Or fathom beginning normal life after. Deepest sympathy to her

  • I hadn’t heard that he had shot them. I can’t begin to imaging what she is going through. My heart breaks for her

  • A beautiful letter by a griefing Wife and Mum. She must be a very strong lady to have managed to write letter so soon. Unfortunately you can’t force a depressed person to seek professional help.
A Doctor isn’t allowed to say anything that is a suggestion that he may have been advised of a situation even if you suspect the person is mixing their medication up, or taking extra because he/she can’t remember whether or not he/she has taken it or not.

  • Melissa is one very strong and brave lady, many would be filled with have at a time like this. She is filled with love and compassion.

  • Such beautiful words. A timely reminder to everyone.

  • Poor woman! I’m glad she’s going on and that the smiles of her husband and her two kids are always with her.

  • Every day must be hard for this mother.

  • What a dreadful thing this was. It must take so much courage to get out of bed some days.

  • My heart still breaks for this poor mumma xx
