Dubbed by the press as “the bloody nanny”, Gyulchekhra Bobokulova from Uzbekistan, was detained by Police on Monday, after she was caught brandishing the child’s severed head outside a Moscow train station.
Upon being detained, she was sent immediately for psychiatric examinations.
As she entered the court to have her arrest confirmed and extended, the 38-year-old accused told journalists, “It was what Allah ordered.”
Speaking loudly from the suspect’s cage within the court, Ms Bobkulova said: “Allah is sending a second prophet to give news of peace.”
Complaining that she was “hungry” and had not been fed, Ms Bobkulova also said that she would “die in a week.” The mother-of-three also waved to the crowd of journalists in the courtroom and said, “Hi to everyone.”
Investigator Olga Lapteva told the court that Ms Bobokulova was suspected of committing an “extremely serious crime” and that she should face “a mandatory prison sentence of considerably more than three years”.
The court officially confirmed the nanny’s arrest and ordered her to be held in custody for two months as further investigations continued.
Ms Bobokulova has been undergoing psychiatric examinations since her detention over the murder of the girl, Nastya, whom the judge said was around five years old.
Nastya suffered from learning disabilities and epilepsy and Ms Bobokulova is suspected of butchering her at the family’s apartment in north-western Moscow, before torching the home and fleeing the scene.
