A mother is being question by police after she abandoned her baby in a Brisbane suburb.
The three-month-old baby girl was located in Herston just after midday on Sunday.
She was found by university student Long Nguyen on the front veranda of a share house.
“As I walked on the front porch I discovered that there was a baby girl,” he told the Seven Network.
He took the girl inside and turned on the TV in an attempt to calm her down while waiting for police to arrive.
But neighbours say she could have been there for longer, saying they had heard her crying for a while.
Neighbour Nicole Chegwin told Channel Nine “it is strange, I was more concerned hearing a baby crying and just wondered if the mum needed a break from holding a crying baby, I never imagined it was an abandoned baby”.
The baby was taken to Hospital for a check up and has been given a clean bill of health.
A 41-year-old woman was found near Brisbane’s international airport some reports say with a toddler.
