Such sad news! A well-loved blogger about pregnancy has died while having an emergency Caesarean.
Vanessa Fernandez Arango, 30, a popular Spanish blogger, had thousands of followers, as she shared her struggle to get pregnant and documented her IVF journey on her Instagram page.
Heartbroken husband, Jonathan Garcia announced the news of Vanessa’s tragic death on her Twitter account:
“This is Vanessa’s husband. They have carried out an emergency Cesarean. The baby is in intensive care. Vanessa has died. You will understand that this account will now close. Thank you all for making her laugh,” he said.
Ms Arango, who lived in Bilbao in northern Spain, was 38 weeks pregnant when she fainted and was rushed to the hospital, as reported by Spanish news outlet El Mundo.
During the emergency C-Section, Ms Arango had a fatal heart attack during the surgery.
Her Baby Som Survived
But her baby son, who was subsequently named Alvaro, pulled through, after being in a critical condition.
Tributes to the popular blogger poured in.
One supporter wrote: “A wonderful and magical person has gone. She will always be in our hearts.”
Life As A Single Dad
Mr Garcia has continued posting on his deceased wife’s instagram keeping her followers up to date on what life is like as a single dad.
“I never imagined a goodbye message in her honour would have led to such an avalanche of support,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I want you to know I will continue with her dream of helping other couples.”
His latest post features a photo of his tiny son and their dog saying:
“Here you have our first family photo, the fourth member of the family that watches from the sky and helps us get up at 3 is missing. It is very hard this, diapers, milk powder, lullabies, crying …. and especially when the child cries, poor Nala makes me cry, and I follow her with the doubt of what to do and the pain of loss.
I want to give my eternal gratitude to all those wonderful staff of Cruces Hospital for saving my son’s life, their treatment, care, advice … they have been so exquisite that there are no words of thanks.
I also want to thank the clinic @igin_reproduccion for creating this little miracle that I have in my arms, even if his mother is not here, I know she would be just as grateful.”
We will continue fighting to get ahead as we can, with your support, friends and family, nothing can stop us!”
Pregnancy Journey
Ms Arango attracted many of her followers during her pregnancy journey. She had two ectopic pregnancies, before finally falling pregnant.
She was jubilant when she shared the photo of her positive pregnancy test: “The beginning of the end, the beginning of feeling alive, the end of suffering.”
So sad. We wish the Garcia family only good things from now on. xxx
