A grieving mother has described her heartbreaking goodbye to her daughter who died in a car crash.

Moments before 16-year-old Lara Glover died, her mother Jayne arrived at the crash scene, shares Daily Mail

‘I was able to say goodbye… It meant everything,’ Jayne Glover told the New Zealand Herald.

The call came from a friend who was at the scene of the crash.

‘I felt so blessed that someone had done that and very, very, very thankful,’ Jayne Glover said.

On Sunday Lara and seven friends were driving to the beach when their mini-van rolled. Three others still remain in hospital.

‘There’s no resentment. It was just an accident and accidents happen even to the best of us. They’re all really good kids. It’s just a silly accident,’ she said.

Jayne Glover has asked friends and family not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the crash.

  • very sad. in some aspect, at least she got her closure and got to say goodbye. that would have been so unimaginably tough for her to go through. At least she was there for her child

  • In terms of her healing this will help her so much … wish it hadn’t happened though.

  • I don’t think anything could prepare a parent for this sort of heartbreak.

  • This is one of the most heartbreaking stories I have read – how bittersweet to be able to say goodbye but then watch her pass – my heart is hurting for this mum and the other parents of the children involved.

May those that died Rest In Peace and those in hospital find the strength to get better and find peace with the situation :(

  • It must have been absolutely heartbreaking for the Mum to witness her daughter die knowing there was nothing she could do to save her. The only consolation was she was able to say goodbye to her even though her daughter possibly didn’t know she was there.
