A mother has sparked outrage online after posting photos of her baby daughter wearing mascara to promote her own product sales.

The images were shared on Reddit by a concerned woman and have since been slammed as “so wrong” by people online, who criticised the mum for not only putting the product on her daughter’s eyes but for apparently doing it in the hope of making money, shares Yahoo.

The original images were posted on a Facebook group and captioned “When your baby girl has amazingly long lashes you make them even longer with your younique 3D fiberlash mascara. Bamm! Supa long lashes.”

Responses included:

“I’m so angry and crying. Why would you do this,” Reddit user Nalyak13 wrote.

“Please tell me someone called her out. This is so wrong,” one person commented.

“I’m pretty sure I’m about to cry right now because I feel so bad for this poor baby,” another added.

“It kills me to see make-up, nail polish, or heels on kids. Yeah, sure, they want to play dress up fine, do it at home and take it off before bed. Don’t send them out in public looking like they’re going on a date,” was another response.

“That’s so horrible! That poor little girl. I had my eyebrows first waxed in high school and still I remember how awful that pain was,” another shared. “I can’t believe parents would do something like that to a little girl.”

Do you think this is just innocent fun or did mum go too far?

  • The Mother should have got some artificial eyelashes, stuck them to something – definitely not a baby or child under 12 and put the mascara on them – not “punish” her baby to display the product she is trying to sell.
In many schools girls are not allowed to wear makeup or coloured nail polish at school at all.

  • Not good at all. Risking a bad reaction from the make up putting it on a child this young. Add to the fact she did it for publicity. So very sad

  • Not ok. I hate to see make-up, nail polish, or heels on kids or even perfect little outfits. We can can figure this is never to please our babies, but just our big self/ego/me.

  • I don’t agree with what this mother has done. Babies and young children shouldn’t have make up applied.

  • Yeah. Not appropriate. I have that mascara and I get bits of it in my eyes and its quite painful. A baby shouldn’t be dealing with that. She wants to show off how great the product is then use it on someone with really bad lashes.

  • I personally don’t like at all what the mother did!!
