A mummy blogger accused of injecting urine into her young daughter’s jugular vein finally has her day in court.

Previously we shared that a 42-year-old woman was charged with using poison to endanger life or inflict grievous bodily harm, and another of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, after her little girl went into life-threatening renal failure in March last year, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The case against the mummy blogger and former midwife who allegedly poisoned her own sick daughter is “very complex, involving very detailed and extensive medical evidence”, a court heard.

Police allege the Hunter Valley mother, who can’t be named, injected her young daughter’s jugular vein with urine causing the girl to go into life-threatening renal failure.

Her child suffers from a rare immune deficiency disease but survived her alleged poisoning after treatment in hospital.

Prior to her arrest, the mother gained an international following after posting frequent observations about parenthood on an internet blog.

Many were about the daughter she allegedly poisoned, and her ongoing medical treatment.

Update 5 April 2018

The woman has been committed to stand trial on charges of allegedly injecting urine into her daughter’s jugular vein.

A former midwife who blogged about her daughter’s ill health, is due to face the NSW District Court in Newcastle on Thursday, according to the Courier Mail.

Police allegedly found syringes, laxatives, and urine samples in the mother’s handbag, leading detectives to investigate back to 2008.

Police allege that as well as injecting her daughter with urine, the mother also regularly fed her laxatives which caused peeling skin and a severe rash.

A court heard two years ago that the case was “very complex, involving very detailed and extensive medical evidence”.

The accused mother has remained on bail, but is due to appear in the District Court where she has been committed for trial.

  • I hope her daughter is no longer in her care. I think there is something terribly wrong with this woman and she needs help too.

  • Oh my word! This is disgusting! All this torture to her child just to get followers!

  • This makes me feel physically sick and my skin crawl. I continue to be shocked and outraged at what people are capable of. And especially when children are involved. There are so many beautiful people who can’t ever be, but should be parents. Then there are mothers like this…

  • How disgraceful. This just sickens me.

  • This case should have been court long before now. She is out on bail? I hope she has no contact either with her child or any other children.

  • Oh my goodness, how sick. this poor child. The mother must be mentally unstable to be able to do such things to her child.

  • omg that poor child!! I hope justice is served

  • Poor child ! Wonder what the motives were of this mum ?

  • The poor child – she must have suffered terribly.

  • It really just makes you feel sick that anyone can do this to their child.

  • I’m so glad this woman will be held to account and that the child is now in a better environment.

  • Poor little sweetheart. Imagine how hard it would be to go thought life and not have that loving protection of a caring mother. I give thanks that I had that as a child and into my adulthood.

  • Renal failure usually needs dialysis treatment which is a hard road for anybody, even more so for a child. I notice the age of the girl isn’t shown in this article.
Hopefully the case won’t be adjourned, and she will either be gaoled and receive treatment in there or be placed in a Mental Health Facility for the full length of her sentence.

  • This is awful. I hope this women is appropriately dealt with to the full extent of the law.

  • Wow this mum has massive issues, I hope the girl is doing ok and there is no long term effect for her
