Hello!

No, there isn’t a new collectable campaign afoot (thank goodness) but mums and their kids are going nuts over a mini supermarket set, recently launched at Woolworths.

Who better than to market a miniature supermarket, than an actual supermarket? This adorable, mini supermarket set-up comes equipped with a checkout, scanner, cash register and 47 accessories, which includes shopping bags, shelves and of course, the ubiquitous Woolies signage.

The role-playing toy retails for $60, but is available in some stores at the introductory price of only $40.

Let’s Play Shops

“With Christmas around the corner and parents starting to look for fun gifts that fosters creativity and imagination, we’ve introduced a mini Woolworths supermarket for all the fresh food kids in the making,” a Woolworths spokesperson said.

“They’re already proving to be a popular gift with customers and we expect them to be a big hit this Christmas.”

It’s Going Straight Under The Tree!

Shoppers have expressed their excitement on social media.

“It looks well worth (the money) to me,” said one.

“That’s going straight under the tree,” said another

“Got one for my little one! Mummy’s a checkout chick at Woolworths too!”

The new mini supermarket measures 750mm high and 460mm wide and is available at most stores across the country.

  • This looks very cute. We have a play kitchen at home with lots of groceries to use so this would be great to go and buy the groceries first!

  • My son would have absolutely loved this. Instead, we had all the makings of a supermarket with a trolley, cash register, scanner, etc.

  • My son is only 19 months and my other 2 children are much older it’s a shame my son is a little rough and destroys most things. I don’t think this little supermarket woukd be strong enough to cope ????
