Hello!

If you’re anything like me, you know in your head that your teenagers need to go through a pile of ‘growing pains’ to become the beautiful adults they were meant to be.

Messy rooms, a little too much junk food, too much social media, gangly limbs, goofy feet and pimply cheeks. Gah, I remember it all (except the social media)! We know it’s a rite of passage but your heart still breaks every time you see them dip their head as they walk into a room, turn away slightly when you’re taking a photo or subconsciously hold up their hand whenever they’re talking or laughing.

I want to grab their hand and look them in the eye and tell them that they are stunning, amazing and incredible just the way they are. To be strong, be brave and to say “This is Me”!

But I know (because I’ve been there) that our shell is what everyone sees first and, regardless of what we all say, it’s this we’re focused on in the teenage years especially.

So, as Mums we do whatever we can to help them through.

One of the things I could do for my children (well two of them – the last one is still a little young) was to help them achieve beautiful, big smiles they are proud of with Invisalign® treatment. Even during treatment they were so much more confident – no ‘train tracks’ to be embarrassed about.

I can’t tell you the difference it’s made to them to be able to look the World in the eye and smile right back.

My heart melts seeing them now spread their wings and … SMILE!

If you’ve always thought alignment work wasn’t for your teen or yourself, I’d say just take a few minutes to see what a difference Invisalign® treatment can make. You can chat to their friendly SMILE CONCIERGE who can answer questions you may have and help get you started by booking in your first appointment.

Emma has almost finished her Invisalign treatment and her smile is just a little more magical every day. Most importantly though, she’s out there – confident and happy.

Rather than take my word for it, one of our Facebook fans (Sjorcha) posted on one of our Videos about Invisalign treatment a little while back …

“Actually, I have to say thank you. Your original post about Invisalign inspired me to investigate the option for my daughter who has buck teeth, but she was completely adverse to the ‘train track’ braces solution. She had her first aligner put in yesterday, completely invisible. I had to laugh when her dad last night said, “Shouldn’t you be wearing the brace all the time?” She replied, “I am Dad, wearing it right now …”

I do want to let you know that Mouths of Mums does receive a small sum from Invisalign Australia to provide you this information – we pay all the Mums who work for us so it keeps the wheels turning at MoM HQ. It is important to note however that I really have had experience with Invisalign treatment both personally and for my daughter and only with this knowledge and knowing how much difference Invisalign treatment can make, have agreed to publish this article. x

  • My youngest had a very bad overbite. She was getting orthodontic care from the age of 8. By the time she was a teenager she was very used to her braces. She now has beautifully straight teeth.
