A nanny has been charged with the murder of a young girl after she was seen brandishing the child’s severed head in Russia.
According to ABC news, the Investigative Committee in Moscow reported that the nanny had killed the girl and set the home on fire after the girl’s parents had left the apartment with their older child.
The nanny was caught on CCTV cameras at Moscow train station holding up the girl’s severed head and acting in an agitated manner.
According to authorities, she could be heard shouting “I am a terrorist”.
Police said the woman was now in custody undergoing a psychiatric test. A motive for the murder was yet to be found.
Interfax news agency, citing a law enforcement source, identified the woman as 38-year-old Gyulchekhra Bobokulova, a native of ex-Soviet majority-Muslim Uzbekistan.
LifeNews, a well-known news service, has reported that when police approached the woman for a document check she responded by taking the head out of her bag and started yelling that she had killed a child.
