Butter recall

The recalled products include Devondale butter varieties and Woolworths Butter.

The butter and butter products are being recalled due to a potential microbial contamination, which may cause illness if consumed.

  • Always have this butter in the fridge, checked, thankfully wasn’t in the recall. So many recalls of late :-(

  • Our local Spudshed has heaps of Devon sake butter and I almost got some over the weekend but something stopped me. Phew!

I know the likelihood of contaminated product still being on the shelf is slim but I’m still glad I grabbed a nuttlex instead.

  • How scary…and we are using butter every day

  • Wholly molly this could be bad for the unexpecting person if they don’t know about the recall. How scary

  • Lucky I have aldi butter in my fridge. I really don’t like how we don’t hear about recalls until we look it up. I’m not looking up every product I buy with the production dates. Even a toy I purchased as a gift was recalled because it said, ‘Age 1+’ but it should have said ‘Age 3+.’ I’m sure people know what a one year old can play with?!

  • I seen the post about this – i don’t currently have any in the fridge but can’t recall if this was bought end of last year to make Christmas treats with. But noone I know of (that consumed the treats) got sick.

  • Thanks for letting us know. Seems this site is the only way I learn about things having potential problems

  • Thank you for the info.

  • Thanks so much for sharing. These are really important community service announcements.

  • Thank’s for keeping us informed, luckily we weren’t affected. This is one of the brands we buy regularly.

  • I saw this and had to double check the butter I have in my fridge! Luckily it was affected.

  • I checked ours. Luckily it’s okay….even the half used block of butter.

  • Oh I use to buy this before but just changed it just recently thank goodness for that

  • Thankfully I can’t eat dairy so I avoided this one!

  • Fortunately we have started buying another brand in recent weeks. I hope no one gets ill from these products.
