Parents were left disgusted after finding 20 soiled nappies dumped in a children’s water play area.

The dirty nappies were found overnight in the kids area at Rocks Riverside Park at Seventeen Mile Rocks, south-west of Brisbane.

Brisbane City Council was forced to close the popular water park after alerting locals on Sunday.

‘I am outraged at the selfishness of vandals who over the weekend dumped dirty nappies in the kids aqua park at Rocks Riverside Park,’ councillor Matt Bourke of the Jamboree ward told The Courier Mail.

The council’s park crew worked through the weekend to remove the dumped nappies in the swimming areas.

The council workers had to drain the dirty pool to be filled up with clean swimming water.

‘This is one of the most popular parks in Brisbane and a favourite on weekends for babies and toddlers to enjoy safely, so it is disgraceful that people have deliberately rubbished it,’ councillor Bourke said.

The park has since been reopened.

  • Sounds like a bored teenager or two. Just ridiculous and the amount of time and money wasted by the business cleaning it up.

  • Oh ew! What is wrong with people! Any decent person would realise how disgusting this is, so why do it?

  • Why don’t the parents use a bin or couldn’t find one, them take it home and dispose… It’s their kids as well as other children Coming there is affected

  • I used to live in Brisbane and have actually been to this park- this is a disgusting disgrace! What kind of person would do this? It is not even remotely funny!

  • This is just disgusting. How could someone do this and possibly make a child very ill.

  • Some people are real grubs and don’t care for anyone else or the environment.

  • That is so disgusting. What kind of humans do that? People with no regard for others.

  • Oh that’s really gross! Why did people do that??

  • Seems nobody cares about other people these days.

    • The cost of the clean up would have been huge too – draining and cleaning – such a waste of money and resources. The culprits should have to pay for the clean up – let’s hope they get discovered!

  • What is it with people, are there not enough bins around? Or is it deliberate? Makes you wonder what is behind it.
