Article UPDATE: Police search for missing schoolgirl

Police are appealing for help to find a 13-year-old girl who was reported missing from Mermaid Beach.

The girl was last seen around 8.15am when she left a home on Petrel Avenue.

She is described as being caucasian in appearance, approximately 158 centimetres tall, with a slim build and long dark brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a school uniform consisting of a yellow polo shirt and blue shorts.

UPDATE: Police say she has been found safe and well on Thursday morning.
