A young pregnant woman has been attacked and robbed by four masked men overnight.
The 24-year-old woman was allegedly confronted by four men as she walked down Walsh Street in Noble Park, Victoria, around 11.30pm last night, reports 9 news.
The men were allegedly armed with a baseball bat, a hammer and an axe-shaped weapon, police said.
One of the men allegedly hit the woman’s arm with a hammer after she refused to give him her handbag.
“He swung it three times, with one blow striking her on the arm as she put her arms up to protect her head,” Senior Constable Stephanie Groom told 3AW.
After snatching the woman’s handbag the four men returned to their Ford Falcon XR 6 sedan, which contained two other men.
The woman pleaded for them to return her phone as it held ultrasound photos of her unborn child.
One of the men then threw the phone to the ground before the group sped off.
The woman suffered minor injuries.
Two of the alleged offenders are described as being 180cm tall, while the other is believed to be about 170cm tall.
All three men are believed to be of African appearance and were wearing black clothing, as well as dark coloured ski masks.
