In a two-hour long new documentary titled “Our Queen at Ninety”, the Duchess speaks for the first time about her relationship with Queen Elizabeth and reveals the sweet title Prince George has given his gran.

“She’s been very generous in not being forceful at all and in any of her views, but I feel she’s been there, a gentle guidance really for me,” she says in the upcoming documentary.

The Duchess also speaks about the Queen’s delight with the addition of Princess Charlotte to the royal clan. “It’s very special having a new little girl…I feel very, very lucky that George has got a little sister.

“The Queen was really thrilled that it was a little girl, and I think as soon as we came back here to Kensington Palace she was one of our first visitors.”

Duchess Catherine, who hasn’t been interviewed on TV since her engagement to Prince William in 2011, also reveals in the documentary that Prince George has a special moniker for the 90-year old Queen.

“George is only 2-and-a-half and calls her ‘Gan-Gan’,” she says. “She always leaves a little gift or something in their room when we go and stay, and that just shows her love for her family.”

  • such a wonderful family, lessen the reins and we get to see more of them. The children are interacting more with the public.
My older children called both grandmas grand ma until my sister had a child then she became nan. Away from their grand mas it was different as one put it when it was asked which one was at the door” glass sliding door. The fat old one, he was lucky due to his very young age and yes my MIL was older and wider then my mum. So she found out what she was called behind her back by my older two.
