Hello!

With mental health being almost at crisis point, particularly here in Australia, this video is a cheeky and uplifting reminder that we are all in this together.

Ed Sheeran and Prince Harry have teamed up to give the world a bit of a giggle whilst raising awareness for mental health.

In Australia, the leading cause of death in young people is suicide as reported in ABS Cause of death data and for World Mental Health Day, the focus in 2019 is on suicide prevention. 1 in 5 are reportedly suffering with mental health issues, yet the stigma surrounding mental health makes people feel uncomfortable talking about it.

The red haired duo, Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran, got together to shine a light on reaching out and asking for help and Ed Sheeran posted to Instagram, encouraging people to “ensure that not just today but every day, you look after yourself, your friends and those around you,”

Myself and Prince Harry, want to ensure that not just today but every day, you look after yourself, your friends and those around you. There’s no need to suffer in silence – share how you’re feeling, ask how someone is doing and listen for the answer, be willing to ask for help when you need it, and know that we are all in this together Check out the accounts below for more resources and support – @Heads_Together @Calmzone @MentalHealthFoundation @CharityNoPanic @SamaritansCharity @YoungMindsUK @GiveUsAShoutInsta @Childline_official @LetsTalkAboutMentalHealth @Jedfoundation @Pandas_UK @Charitysane @MindCharity @TimeToChangeCampaign @RethinkMentalIllness @MentalHealthMates @ActionHappiness @MHFAEngland @DitchTheLabel @TheBlurtFoundation

  • Although this video clip don’t carry much content in my opinion, the topic is important !

    • And yes I’m worried about the mental health of my 9yr old (foster) daughter. She suffers a Reactive Attachment disorder with severe kleptomania and has a swallow conscience and affect. We have psychological psychiatric and pediatric help for over 4yrs with no effect so far.

      • Can you ask for a referral to a different specialist who has a strong interest in her particular issues?
Do you have a special Mental Health Plan which is often done by your child’s GP? Your GP should be able to recommend an alternative professional. If you have a plan in place for her you should be able to get treatment paid for her by Medicare. I’m not sure how many visits per year you are entitled are allowed for her.
