Nagging is ok if it is done constructively. It depends on the age of the child the method you use. Some parents forget that little ones need to be shown how to do a thing a few times – not just once – they don’t have the ability to learn as fact as older children do. With an older child pre-teens you need to show them more than once if it isn’t as simple as you think it might be for them. You show a 10 or less how to do something and expect them to do it alone a month later. especially if you didn’t make the time for them to be able to let you do it completely. I know parents who do that a lot., then do it differently the next time. It confuses the kids and they don’t know which way to do it them. Then one parent takes the attitude of ‘do what I say not as I do’ One of them yells at the kids all the time, often doesn’t say the kid’s name first and wonders why the things aren’t done
