Aspiria Australia have recalled Crane Sports Inflatable Pegasus and Flamingo sold at ALDI stores.

The product poses an increased drowning risk due to missing a required warning label.

ACCC advises consumers the product labelling is not in accordance with the Consumer Protection Notice No. 2 of 2009

‘Consumer Product Safety Standard for Flotation Toys and Aquatic Toys’. The products are missing the following warning: WARNING. AQUATIC TOY. USE ONLY UNDER SUPERVISION.

If children are not supervised while using the products, there is an increased risk of drowning.

  • Hope none of these were in Christmas gifts this year.

  • Recalls put on this site have normally hit the media at least a week, sometimes 2 or 3 before they appear on here.

  • Thank you so much for the update.

  • You shouldn’t need a label to know that you supervise your children around water. Especially if they are using floaties

  • Kind of think that it would be logical that children should be supervised around water.

  • Kids should ALWAYS be supervised around water anyway. We shouldn’t need a label to tell us that!

    • I agree – it pays to be hyper vigilant around pools and water – full attention time.

  • Personally I’m not one who reads all the labels. When buying something like this we all have to make a conscious decision whether our kids can cope with a toy or not. Continuous supervision is needed around water, with or without this toy, anyway.

  • I do not know or these products and have not purchased them but this recall notice is a great customer service to your readers, particularly as the swimming/pool season is now in full swing.

  • A timely warning with the warmer weather upon us.

  • I am glad they have been recalled before Summer.

  • Thanks for always sharing these recalls. This way more people have the chance to read about it.
