ACCC Product Safety have issued a recall reminder for Shark Rocket vacuum cleaner.

There are concerns a faulty cord could lead to burns or electric shock risk.

Brand Developers Aust pty Ltd recalled the Shark Rocket HV300NZ Vacuum Cleaners manufactured 16-Jan to 15-Nov-2014.

Model no. HV300NZ (units manufactured from 16 January 2014 to 15 November 2014).

These units bear a production code in the range of 0314A to 4614A inclusive.

Affected models can be identified by reference to the model number and production code marked on the vacuum cleaner unit.

What are the defects?
A faulty cord assembly that may result in premature cord failure has been reported in some HV300NZ units near the strain relief.

What are the hazards?
Risk of burn and electric shock.

What should consumers do?
Consumers are advised to unplug their vacuum cleaner at the wall and not to use it again until it has been repaired.

Consumers are advised to register their details at www.sharkrecall.com.au or contact the Shark Hot Line on 1800 722 222 to make arrangements to have the cord and plug replaced free of charge.

  • Shark has always been recognised as an excellent quality safe to use product.
    I wonder why problems are only now starting to appear.
