Austwide Consumer Products recalls Kids Engineering Toy Vehicles Friction Powered. Small parts may be liberated and pose a potential choking or ingestion hazard for small children.

Product description

Four friction powered toy vehicles, shaped like cement trucks, dump trucks, digger trucks and tow trucks.

What are the defects?

Products do not comply with clauses 5.24.2 (drop test), 5.24.5 (torque test) and 5.24.6 (tension test) of Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 — Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

What are the hazards?

Small parts may be liberated and pose a potential choking or ingestion hazard for small children.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should immediately remove the toy(s) from the child and return them to the retailer where they were purchased for a full refund.

A & W Hollier recalls Hershey’s Kitchens Premier White Chips, Hershey’s Kisses Creamy Milk Chocolate with Almonds & Hershey’s Kisses Cookies ‘n’ Crème

Due to the potential presence of undeclared allergens (peanuts and tree nuts).

The Love Your Cub Silicone teether & bonus chain has been recalled in 4 designs- peace sign mint, peace sign blue, rainbow & ship’s wheel.

What are the defects?

The product does not comply with the requirements of the ban on baby dummy chains with unsafe decorations, Consumer Protection Notice No. 34 of 2011. The product exceeds the required length, and small parts are able to be detached. The chain should not be attached to teether.

What are the hazards?

If small parts detach during use, this poses a potential choking hazard.

What should consumers do?

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the item & return item to place of purchase for full refund.

  • wow this is such a big list and that is a little bit concerning actually. You would think that customer safety would be a priority here and that maybe the retailers should be paying a little more to the manufacturers to help ensure this. i know that everyone wants a bargain but there are real world costs and risks to achieve this!

  • Thank you for bringing these to our attention. Re the electric throws weight in a spot the same issue can apply to electric blankets. I know somebody who placed a case on a bed and went out for awhile – the electric blanket was on – it overheated and caught fire.
