I’ll be honest. I really wanted to be blown away by this, but I didn’t really expect to. I figured I’d buy it, and be annoyed that I wasted $30. But truly, my house backs onto a mangrove swamp, (yuck!), and the mosquitoes in summer are the WORST! They attack in swarms, and will literally drive you out of a room when they gang up on you. The poor baby cops it the worst. So I decided to give it a go, and I am so glad I did! For the last month, we have had minimal mosquitoes in the house! MAYBE four or five a day, which is REALLY saying something, when you consider that it wouldn’t have been unusual to have twenty or more in the space of an hour!
I genuinely cannot recommend this product enough! It even smells nice!

Unfortunately my house has limited fly screens, and in the QLD humidity I always try to have enough breeze to keep us cool. With that comes unwanted insects, flies being my major issue. After trying this product I’ve seen a massive decrease in the amount of flies coming inside. I’d spent a crazy amount of money on fly spray, and this works out to be much more effective.

we bought one of these because we have a midgie issue (we live near mangroves)
its kept above the back door so that if the kids leave it open we dont have to worry as much that the midgies will come in… its set at 9 minute intervals and works a treat… i havent had a midgie bite for weeks!

After reading and hearing rave reviews about Mortein Naturgaurd we decided to purchase it last week and hubby and I are very impressed .
Having young children running in and out of back yard and leaving security door open, we always used to have insects flying into the house. Since using this Naturgaurd, we no longer face this problem and I no longer need to scream to close fly/security door close.
We have had the odd fly come in but before long it either fits out or dies.

The options you can select depending on which insects you are wanting to target make it easy and more sense than 12 – 24 hour options. I have to say I didn’t like the idea of this as it was automatically spraying Mortein around and I was concerned it would affect us, our pets as much as the flies. The dog and cat are not affected at all. Flies are gone (. see what happens in warmer weather) and it doesn’t affect us.

This is such a simple idea yet works amazingly. The tropical life is great but we get waves of insects after a rain or change of weather. These did not smell bad or cause coughing like most sprays. I hate having sprays and we can not use many as my son will be sneezing all night and their not good for the fish in the tank but this works a treat and the kids have been bite free for weeks. The smell actually helps my sons sneezing lessen which is great he gets to wake with a clear head.

Unfortunately I was not chosen to review this product, but I decided to go ahead and purchase it anyway to give it a go. I found assembly of the unit very easy and it start working killing pests straight away. We mounted our unit at height on the wall and it was effective at killing flies, mosquitoes and even cockroaches although it did not seem to worry our spiders. Only issue is it was hard to notice when the aerosol needs replacing and the clip cover is a little flimsy. It also seems safe and doesn’t disturb our pets and children

Moreton nature guard for indoor use is a great guard to protect the whole family especially little ones, the eucalyptus is a really great smell to mask the normal horrible smell these insect repellents normally have. The price is pretty good but like everything at the moment it is a bit deer but I guess safer than a citronella candle .

We were very happy with the Mortein Nuturgard Auto Protect Insect controller. We have small kids and they are constantly leaving doors open. In summer we get bombarded with flies, and I hate flies. We do not have security screens at home so we normally have the doors open and get bugs but mainly flies. I notice when we have the Naturgard on we get minimal to no flies but when we don’t there are swarms of them hanging around. We don’t notice it when it is on as it is so quiet

I was trying to find a product I could use indoors to help with insect protection. Unfortunately I did not like this one at all. I found the smell actually a bit too strong as we live in an apartment. I wouldn’t recommend it to others at this stage but I haven’t tried any others, perhaps I’ll like this one more when I have a point of reference to compare it to.

I must admit, I was skeptical before trying this!
After working up the courage to fork out over $30 for it, I was pleasantly surprised!

I struggle with mosquito bits and they zero in on the kids and I found that since using this indoors the bites have really decreased which is great. It doesn’t completely eliminate insects but goes along way to controlling the levels and it means I am also then free to do other things and not run around with spray cans and fly squatters.

I was always scared to use chemicals so before this product I used nothing.
I noticed no mosquitos or flys while using this product. I have no fly screens or screen doors and because I’m pregnant I wouldn’t use any strong chemicals.
This product definetly helps the insects stay put and made my house smell nice which is a bonus. It’s good that it isnt a gimic.

The only problem I have found with this product is both my son and I have had breathing problems and asthma attack immediately after using this product. Use small amounts in a well ventilated area after use if you have asthma.

All really good tips. I’m a big believer in not letting them sit in wet nappies for long. Even the most absorbent nappies are resting against their delicate skin and need changing. I’m also a big sudocrem fan. A thin layer applied to irritated skin does wonders. It’s natural for them to have nappy irritations but we can only do our best to avoid it
Really terrific advice. My daughter never had much in the way of nappy rash develop and I believe that because I did change her so frequently and we had a lot of nappy free time, especially in the warmer months of summer. Sure there is things to treat nappy rash but we all know prevention is best!
My first born had terrible nappy rash and ulcers from acid urine and none of the specialists prescription creams did anything. I finally used Petroleum Jelly and it cleared up his skin very quickly and kept future rashes at bay. It is cheap and easy to use and works the best of anything.
Any redness can be resolved with a tub of Sudocrem. It’s a cream that smells like lavender. Very pleasant and usually works quickly within the first application.

I had issues with my son pooping a lot as a newborn. Sometimes it can be really hard to keep the rash at bay if you have a child that is constantly doing that. There is some acidity in the excrement and that can cause burning before it’s even been against their skin for long. I used to use paw paw cream on him and that worked best as a barrier.
Nappy Rash can be so raw and painful and i always worried so much when our babies had a bout of it. I remember trying so many things but always found good old petroleum jelly used regularly would help in keeping it at bay. There are some great suggestions in the article.
I did find that not all nappy rash creams are as good as each other. After trialing many brands I settled on Sudocrem as the best for me and my baby. Changing nappies frequently and air time is also very important.
There are so many common sense tip in this article and they are tips that we followed. We kept everything as natural as possible on very soft and sensitive skin. We went with plenty of nappy free times and we were very fortunate to not encounter issues with nappy rash.

It can become more challenging when your child has diarrhea; in which case bare bum time becomes more complex and the skin more irritated in which the gentle washing with warm water, patting dry with a soft cotton flannel and good zinc cream is more important
Even though I agree that prevention is key, I also think it’s important to have a good barrier cream to hand to help at the first signs of trouble. There are lots of good brands, you can pick any really that suits your baby’s skin. But use it liberally when you need it!

Nappy rash is horrible and prevention is definately better than cure. This is a fantastic article with some great tips. Especially the changing of the nappy frequently. Unfortunately sometimes especially once they’re on solids and their poops get yucky a little nappy rash can be unavoidable in which case a small amount of sudocreme clears it up quickly.
We found that changing nappies frequently was key for us. And once the kids starting sleeping for long periods at night, we started using the really good quality nappies – Huggies, as it happens – while cheaper nappies were still okay for the day and frequent changes. Nappies do vary! .
This is a really great reminder that nappy rash can happen but there are some great tips to help try and avoid it. I use to do a lot of nappy free time with my daughter when we were home as she had sensitive skin and I layered the barrier cream on all the time, especially at night.
