The mother of two teenage children shot dead by their father in a double murder- suicide that rocked Australia has tragically died.

Olga Edwards, 37, was found dead at her home in West Pennant Hills, Sydney’s north-west, on Wednesday morning – less than six months after her estranged husband murdered their children in a bedroom at the same property, shares Daily Mail.

Daily Mail Australia understands Ms Edwards’ body was found by police at about 10am, after officers responded to a concern for welfare report.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious.

‘She has been struggling lately,’ a police source told The Daily Telegraph.

‘Since losing her children she has been in and out of hospital and police have been in constant contact with her and became worried when they didn’t hear from her.’

Her children Jack, 15, and Jennifer Edwards, 13, were executed at a West Pennant Hills property by their father John Edwards, 68, on July 5.

Mr Edwards shot himself dead about 12 hours later at his home in the nearby suburb of Normanhurst.

  • We really need to look at how we are raising our boys. Teach them to express their emotions in different way

  • This makes me angry, then sad then angry again. The poor mother. What she would have been through. Her heart would have been so broken. The father makes me furious. Why would he do that to his children?!?!? And then the coward suicides afterwards so he doesn’t have to face the consequences. My thoughts are with any of her remaining family who have lost 3 loved ones

  • I think we can all understand how terrible sad this story is. 3 years on, we still have too much DV . It seems that when one partner is so full of hatred for their ex, they are intent on destruction at any and every cost. Unfortunately we are still seeing this – the man who jumped off the Whispering Wall in Williamstone with his baby daughter just moments after taunting his ex she’d never see her again, the poor family in Brisbane set alight in the car outside their house- sometimes i think ‘there but for the grace of god go i’ as I left an abusive relationship with my very young kids. Do we need more awareness and education early on to try and prevent this? It is just such a tragedy and waste of life.

I honestly wouldn’t have anything to live for if my kids died. I don’t even want to think about it!

  • I feel so sad when I hear about a child dying, and even more compounded when it is at the hands of an adult, let alone their parent

  • This poor woman! This is exactly how I would feel if I lost any of my kids. I just have no idea how a parent comes back from the death of a child. Soul crushingly devastating and life destroying

  • She would have been devastated when he took the lives of their children. This is happening more and more and it’s so tragic. She was such a strong person to have tried to cope for as long as she did. I believe that she is now at peace and reunited with her children. RIP

  • And I was told that I was stupid when I said I believed my ex would carry out his threats to kill my children when we were in the process of separating. Thank God my eldest son made sure his gun was no longer able to be fired.
