Hello!

There’s just something about the pure, innocent joy of a playground swing, and there’s now an easy way to capture those sweet childhood moments completely hands-free, thanks to the Selfie Swing.

The clever creation has a moulded section to place your phone, which faces at your little one, recording the giggles and the adorable smiles. And it’s just. So. Wholesome!

Mum Alex Jacobson shared a video of her son Blake on a Selfie Swing, and the footage is melting hearts all over TikTok. It’s already racked up more than one and a half million views.

@blakescoolmom I thought it was a little silly at first, but this will be footage i keep forever ???? someday he will be grown and I’ll really miss moments like this at the park #momsoftiktok #toddlersoftiktok #pregnant #2under2 #fyp ♬ original sound – Ally

“I thought it was a little silly at first,” Alex commented. “But this will be footage I keep forever. Someday he will be grown and I’ll really miss moments like this at the park.”

And other mums agreed.

“Gah love this!” Rachel Wunder commented. “I can hear the older gen saying, ‘We didn’t need phones to enjoy our time.’ Are the same ones wishing they had more photos like this.”

Alex is based in the US, where these types of Selfie Swings are becoming more popular at playgrounds.

We haven’t been able to locate any of these in Australia, but if you know of any, add the location in the comments below!

  • I had no idea a selfie swing was a thing, but why not really? If they had been in my day I would have been in every one of them as I was always the swing pusher!!

  • It’s lovely to capture such happy times.

    • It is so important particularly in these times to capture happy moments.

  • Would of loved this when my boys were smaller. Their faces lit up when on the swing so would of loved to capture it from that angle

  • How pointless. Why not just take the photo or video since you are there pushing your kid anyway.

  • That’s a very cute video. Someone was thinking when they designed this swing :)

  • What a gorgeous video, such a cutie. Sad thing is, I’m picturing it being stolen or damaged in some way. People just can’t help themselves

  • It’s cute but unnecessary. If it gets connected to the wider web who knows who might take advantage of it.

    • It only goes on the web if you post it. Its just a phone holder you click to take the video

  • What an adorable idea. At first I thought the phone was actually in the swing and I was worried some pervert could take it. Knowing it’s your own phone makes me love this swing. Never seen any in Australia as of yet though
