Sharon Stone has revealed the reason why she wasn’t able to conceive her own children.

The 59-year-old actress is mum to three adopted boys, Roan, 16, Laird, 12, and Quinn, 10. She recently confessed that an autoimmune disease made it difficult to carry a pregnancy to full term – suffering several miscarriages during her marriage to Phil Bronstein from 1998 until 2003, reports WHO.

Speaking about her rarely pictured sons to Closer Weekly, Sharon touchingly revealed that they are the best things to ever happen to her.

“The other day, I asked my son Laird if he knew how much I loved him and he said, ‘Yeah. Because you chose me,'”

“I watch videos from when they were small and am absolutely enthralled by that. But those moments just keep coming.”

And when times get tough, her sons give her strength. “I think that love is the greatest faith there is and if you stay faithful in your love, then you’re going to be OK,”

  • The best thing in life is to love and care for children. It doesn’t matter whether they are biological. Giving a child a safe home is incredible

  • It’s always such a shame and so sad when women go through miscarriages but I’m glad she was able to give three boys a great and privileged life.
I always wanted to adopt if I couldn’t have kids of my own as I think it’s such a nice thing to be able to give someone a life where they are loved and have a proper home.

  • I have heard of quite a few Mums who have had miscarriages due to an autoimmune disease After being diagnosed and going on a special medical diet some have later managed to successfully have a baby. Some Mums have not been diagnosed prior to becoming pregnant or never conceived at all because in some cases the disease was not diagnosed until the sufferer was 50+ years old.
