How long has it been since someone put cash into your Super for you? Without you having to work for it?

If you’re anything like me, your Super probably hasn’t had a good top up anytime recently. You’ve been in and out of the workforce between maternity leaves and when you do go back, it’s often part-time and you don’t earn enough to really contribute much to your Superannuation. Or you’ve realised that the cost of child care is more than you would actually earn so it’s financially more sensible for you to stay home and care for them.
Or older women are leaving work to care for either a partner or an elderly parent.  All of which is mostly unpaid and certainly isn’t adding anything to your Super.

Don’t worry – you are not alone.  This is a situation most Australian women are finding themselves in and in fact, Australian women are retiring with 58% as much super as men.

This is why we’re so excited to share Super Rewards with you!

Super Rewards has been developed by two amazing women, Pascale Helyar-Moray and Emily Hollingum. Both senior career professionals who are passionate about helping women become economically independent.  Or at the least retire with a similar Super fund size as their male counterparts. They are also both Mums who’ve lived through the juggle of kids, work and competing priorities.

They realised that it’s been approximately 30 years since the superannuation guarantee was introduced, yet 40% of single women are retiring in poverty, and that the fastest growing demographic of homelessness is the 55 year old woman.

They (and we) think that it’s shameful that a country as rich as ours has let its elderly women, after a lifetime of service and caring for others, go without enough money to care for themselves. So they got together to create Super Rewards!

What Are Super Rewards?

Super Rewards is an online shopping platform where retailers pay cash rewards into your super when you shop with them.

Here’s how it works:

Every time you shop, whether you’re getting the groceries or buying shoes, you will get cash rewards from our retail partners paid into your super account. Seamless. Effortless. Beautiful.
And thanks to the magic of compound interest, those cash rewards increase in value over time.

Super Rewards helps you grow your super just by doing what you’d normally do and reach a more comfortable retirement.

Super Rewards is cash rewards, for you and for your super.

Super Rewards is compatible with any super fund or SMSF. It’s free to join, and there are no upfront charges.

Each time you shop at the 120+ retailers on the Super Rewards platform, you earn money to go into your super. The more you shop, the more super you earn.

Super Rewards have some incredible brands already on the platform, many of whom are Australia’s leading retailers: Woolworths, The Iconic, Country Road, Apple, Booktopia, etc. There are also many more to come!

  • I think this is a great initiative for women – I signed up a couple of weeks ago. It definitely won’t make huge contributions, but something is better than nothing!

    • Me too! Every little bit helps!

      • Hi yes – every little bit does help. The more you shop via Super Rewards, the more you add to your super. I’ve been using it for the last few weeks and have already got just under $30 coming into my super. That’s $360 a year which, when it compounds over time, can make a really substantial difference!

  • Something new to think about. Might work – will have to have a closer look and work out if it’s for me.

  • As women miss out on a lot of super due to looking after children, I think this is great
