There are good teachers and some not so good.
When my eldest was at school one of the teachers lied straight to my face about how caring she was when my daughter had an accident at school. My daughter was told by this teacher to stop making such a fuss. My daughter was screaming after being hit in the head. long story short my daughter had a fractured skull and had struggled through the day at school with a crashing headache and then the ride home on the bus where she felt sick. Once she arrived home she started bleeding from the nose. Trip to the emergency room and that was a greeatg start to our school holidays. 2 weeks later I was up at that school first thing on the monday morning and you can be sure I had a lot to say. When the teacher was called in with the principal and myself she lied and said she went over to my daughter and told her that it didnt seem so bad but if she kept feeling pain she needed to go to the office. All untrue.
Some teachers will lie to get themselves out of trouble.

This is sad. That poor little girl. I think the teacher was very wrong in doing what she did. I remember years ago bringing salami bread rolls to school and the other kids making fun of me.

That’s awful isolating a child like that. She’s missing out on valuable social skills being ostracised like that

It wrong for the teacher to do that but I think smelly food should be avoided eating in public.

Absolutely not wrong of you to report the teacher! I’m fuming on your and your kids’ behalf for the lack of respect the teacher has for other cultures, basic teaching skills (not stopping the bullying) and for the lying she did when she was caught out. Terrible! I’m sorry you had to change rooms but that’s probably the best thing done in this situation. Sorry that your hubby doesn’t understand what you both have gone through, though I would have hoped that he would believe his own child especially if she claims that it’s happened multiple times and with confirmation from other teachers etc.

That is disgusting behaviour of a teacher. She should be punishing the bully or even herself in this case

No one should ever be excluded…ar any age….disgusting to hear this

I am so surprised because inclusion is so important and I do not understand exclusion.

Her teacher should be ashamed to treat a child this way.

That is ridiculous! Why would the teachers not use this as an education tool for diversity and inclusion?

This is beyond abhorrent behaviour by the teacher, This is an opportunity to teach diversity, inclusion and acceptance. I hope this child does not have ongoing trauma from this.

What an awful teacher! What an awful thing to do! I remember my smelly sardine sandwiches in primary school, I was never isolated for them

I would have done the same if this had been my child. It’s just another form of bullying from a teacher who should know better. I may have had doubts at first but this teacher changed their story when faced so there’s definitely something going on here.

It sounds pretty bad and I would be interested to hear from the school but I also wonder how accurate this article is in its reporting.

I thought all this had been put to rest 50 years ago with Australia embracing multiculturism. I feel so sorry for your daughter having to also go through this in this day and age. I’ll bet the same teacher wouldn’t think twice of going to a Chinese restaurant or a Thai one.
