A heavily pregnant woman was shockingly stabbed six times during a violent home invasion.
The victim, aged 33, was believed to have disturbed an intruder inside her Mt Colah home at about 8.50pm.
A teenage boy, aged 14, stabbed the woman in her abdomen, chest and arm before fleeing the scene, reports 9 news.
She managed to attract the attention of neighbours, who called emergency services to the scene.
The woman was then rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital by ambulance, where she remains in a stable condition.
Police said she was several months pregnant and the condition of her unborn child is not known.
The 14-year-old was arrested at a home on a nearby street about an hour after the attack.
He was taken to Hornsby Hospital for treatment for wounds to his hands. He is awaiting surgery and remains under police guard.
