Look, let’s be real, with lockdown life a reality for so many of us, we’re quickly running out of TV shows and series to get us through the days. Thankfully Netflix has revealed what’s coming in October, and it looks good.

From dark dramas, thrilling series and cute kids shows that will have us smiling, Netflix is looking good in October. Someone put the popcorn on, I’m ready. Here’s the 9 new Netflix shows we’re most excited about.

MAID | Coming October 1st

Get ready for your heart strings to be tugged. Inspired by the New York Times best-selling memoir, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive by Stephanie Land, MAID follows the story of Alex, a single mother who turns to housecleaning to — barely — make ends meet as she escapes an abusive relationship and overcomes homelessness to create a better life for her daughter, Maddy.

THE GUILTY | Coming October 1st

The film takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger—but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.

DIANA, THE MUSICAL | Coming October 1st

It’s the musical I’m not entirely sure we needed, but we’ll probably watch anyway. Diana: The Musical brings us face-to-face with one of the 20th century’s most compelling figures in a landmark musical event.

BAKING IMPOSSIBLE | Coming October 6th

This baking competition show totally takes it to another level? Is it cake? Or is it engineering genius? Perhaps it’s both. Baking Impossible is a new competition series that pairs the most creative and innovative bakers with the best and brightest engineers to make creations that are beyond our wildest imaginations.

PRETTY

SMART | Coming October 8th

Sometimes you just need need an easy series, that makes you laugh and requires zero brain capacity. Pretty Smart is it. It’s a story of intellectual Chelsea, moving to live with her slightly less-intellectual sister and ditsy friends. It’s funny, light and oddly relatable.

THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB | Coming October 11th

If you loved the first series, you’ll adore this upcoming season. The Baby-Sitters Club is a contemporary dramedy that follows the friendship and adventures of seven friends as they start their own babysitting business in Stoneybrook, Connecticut.

YOU (SEASON 3) | Coming October 15th

Fans raved about the first two seasons of YOU, so this much anticipated third season is sure to thrill. Using the internet and social media as his tools to gather the most intimate of details and get close to her, a charming and awkward crush quickly becomes an obsession as he quietly and strategically removes every obstacle – and person – in his way.

KARMA’S WORLD | Coming October 15th

Holy cuteness! Karma’s World follows Karma Grant, an aspiring musical artist and rapper with big talent and an even bigger heart. Smart, resilient, and deeply empathetic, Karma pours her soul into songwriting, channeling her feelings into whip-smart rhymes with passion, courage and her signature brand of humour.

NIGHT TEETH | Coming October 20th

Like dark, and ghoulish? Get ready for this. A college student moonlighting as a chauffeur picks up two mysterious women for a night of party-hopping across LA. But when he uncovers their bloodthirsty intentions — and their dangerous, shadowy underworld — he must fight to stay alive.

  • I hate starting a series because I need to finish it asap. ‘You’ is horrible, crazy, but addictive. It makes you need to know whats gonna happen next even if you don’t like the storyline. I wanted to watch ‘Maid’ but I didn’t want to get hooked like on ‘You.’
