The photo of a tiny newborn hand people are calling 'creepy and not safe'

The photo of a tiny baby hand posted to Instagram has attracted lots of discussion.

The strange image of a baby hand with LONG shaped nails was posted by Daily_earthpix, which shares images of nature and animals, asking followers: ‘Cute or not?’

The fingernails on the tiny hand were so perfectly pointed they looked as if they had been deliberately filed into shape, while a glossy sheen suggested there may be a layer of clear nail polish.

More than 34,000 people have liked the image, but none of the commenters agreed it looked cute.

Dozens warned that it was dangerous for the baby who could easily scratch its delicate skin.

A concerned user said the baby could even claw their own eyes out with the long talons.

I am still not convinced it is a genuine image? What do you think?

Well, it’s certainly not natural. Either the photo or the nails have been modified.

That has to be photoshopped as they don’t look right, if they aren’t well that’s just weird in my opinion!

Certainly doesn’t look like a baby’s hand. Maybe photoshopped? I for one don’t like it at all

Definitely not cute. My daughter is always scratching at stuff. I would never let her nails grow that long.

I think ( and hope) its photo shopped
No mum in their right mind would purposely keep their babies nails this long! They can scratch themselves with the shortest of nails .. imagine the damage these could do !!
