The search for a teenage girl missing off an Adelaide beach has ended in tragedy after her body was found on Monday morning.

The 15-year-old visiting from India representing her country as part of the Pacific School Games was due to fly home on Tuesday.

Two other girls aged 17 were taken to the Flinders Medical Centre on Sunday.

Lifesavers were able to pull the others from the water but were unable to find the girl despite an extensive search.

Her body was found soon after the search resumed on Monday near the breakwater.

Such tragic news. RIP.

  • Such a tragedy, especially as her parents probably found out she was missing before her body was located. They would have had a very distressing time not knowing where she was. I missed hearing the last report. I don’t know if they were in an area known for rough seas or not….or if they were actually swimming in between the flags. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
