Police continue to investigate the death of a baby boy who was found in a hot car.

Family members were left panicked when they couldn’t find the toddler on Sunday afternoon.

He was found about 3.30pm in a car outside the home in Chester Hill after he was noticed missing from inside the house.

NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived at the scene but the young child could not be revived.

A crime scene has been established and police are continuing inquiries.

Shortly after being found in the car, the boy’s mum arrived at the home and ran down the street in distress yelling, “my baby”.

It is understood the mum left the boy under the care of family members, 7 News reports.

It is also believed he was a twin.

Our thoughts are with the family.

  • Oh no, that poor family! He must’ve snuck out and gotten himself stuck.

  • I read the child was just 22 months old. It looks like he was left in the car by some member of the family. I guess we will read more about this.

  • How old was the toddler? Until what age is a young child classified as a toddler? Was the car not locked and the child climbed into it? I have seen a 3 1/2 year old do that and climb into her booster seat. Admittedly they were going out but it proves how easily it could happen if a car was left unlocked.

  • I wonder if he was left in there or if he crawled in somehow?

  • I am interested to read how this all came about. If it’s another of those “I forgot the baby was in the car” stories………I just dunno what I’ll do. I’ll Beverly understand how someone can forget a child. Poor baby ????
