A Queensland mother has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her baby daughter in 2012.

Michelle Catherine Leask pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter in Brisbane Supreme Court on Wednesday over the death of her seven-week-old daughter Lili at a home at Deception Bay, north of Brisbane, reports 9 news.

A more serious charge of murder was withdrawn and the matter adjourned for sentencing on April 4.

  • very sad! obviously not everything was right there. not enough details to know though


  • this is terrible. how could a trained doctor miss this? Luckily they found it and were able to resolve it before sever damage was done.

    The story contains very little detail and maybe details aren’t clear. I wonder what happened and if this mum maybe had a postnatal psychosis.
