A young girl has allegedly been raped by two men who took her from one of Sydney’s northern beaches, police say.
It’s alleged the 12-year-old girl was approached at Freshwater Beach on Thursday afternoon by the two men who then drove her to Brookvale, just seven minutes away, where they allegedly assaulted her, Perth Now reported.
The men were arrested on Friday afternoon and taken to Manly Police Station.
On Saturday at Parramatta Bail Court, the magistrate deemed the allegations of “violent sexual assault” as “serious” and both men were denied bail.
One of the men, 25, has been charged with three counts and the other man, 22, a single count of aggravated sexual intercourse.
One of the men is currently in Australia on a working visa from Italy. The court heard he has no criminal history.
In court the defence argued CCTV will be an important part of the trial.
The men will remain in custody ahead of an appearance via video link at Central Local Court on Thursday, April 28.
