Winter holidays can be hard to keep the kids entertained because the weather can make it hard to get out of the house.

Here are 5 great things you can do with the kids to help keep them entertained:

  1. Library: The Darwin Library has great holiday programs including movies, story times, science experiments, shows and more. All events are FREE. The Alice Springs Library also has many events including story times, movies and craft to keep the kids busy. All events are FREE.
  2. Mini golf: Flight Path golf have a fabulous mini golf course that the kids will love. Price is $8.50 for 18 holes. Open everyday.
  3. Show: The Alice Spring show is on again bringing you food, rides, animals and lots of entertainment. On 1st and 2nd of July 9-5:30pm.
  4. Reptiles: Visit the Alice Springs Reptile Centre for a fun day of reptile spotting. Don’t miss the informative daily show and handling session, the kids will love it. Prices start at $9. Open everyday.
  5. Movies: Winter time is perfect for seeing a movie and Event cinemas have great family ticket prices. With “Finding Dory”, “Ice Age 5″ and “The BFG” all out these holidays, you may even want to go more than once.

  • We definitely won’t be holidaying in the NT. A visit here is on my bucket list for one day…..

  • For those visiting Alice Springs who have an interest in motor vehicles there is a museum there featuring some. There is some fabulous photos of various cars, trucks – small and big. I believe some of them are in albums. I personally haven’t been it but I know a couple of vehicle fans who have. They spent a few hours looking around, including the albums. One one building on a corner (I think it may have been a side wall of a supermarket) there is a big mural of scenery. The Todd River may still have some water in it or it may be dry. For safety ressons do not wander along there at night at all. There is also a Royal District Flying Doctor Base there. I’m not sure how often it is open to the Public. We visited it on a Coach Tour. From memory they had souveniers, postcards etc. for sale as a fundraiser. It is very cold at night, but is sometimes quite warm during the day. We went up there in June.
