First thing I looked for in the list of things needed for this hairstyle was hairspray. Lol. Looks like it would need a fair bit of hold

It sometimes works better to have hair that is not freshly washed so it’s not so slippery for this hair style

We did this hairstyle and it was great for a special occasion!

It does look good, but I’m wondering how it would look at the end of the school day. Not sure hairspray is enough for long term hold

  Probably best for a party or special event rather than school for that very reason

  You could do this sans hairspray but I would do it the day before the child’s hair was due to be washed. The natural oils would help it stay in place better.

I forgot to say, spray with hairspray initially and then comb through the hair and then tie the bow. It will help it to sit better.
