CERELAC Baby Rice:

Australian guidelines support the introduction of iron-rich foods, such as fortified infant cereals, as ideal first foods. Nestlé CERELAC Baby Rice contains single grains and is rich in iron, containing on average 50% of the RDI* per serve. When prepared, it has a smooth texture ideal for babies from 4 months. CERELAC also contains probiotic Bifidus BL, and can be easily mixed with a teaspoon of your baby’s favourite vegetable or fruit puree for a tasty variation. CERELAC Baby Rice is not recommended for infants under 4 months of age.

*Recommended dietary intake for infants up to 6 months

Instructions for Use:

Wash your hands before preparing your baby’s food. Make sure all utensils (spoon, bowl) are thoroughly clean.  Boil clean drinking water for 5 minutes. Allow to cool. Measure 60mL and pour lukewarm water^ into your baby’s bowl. Add 15g of CERELAC approx. 1.5 AU tablespoons. Stir until the cereal is a smooth consistency and feed immediately using a clean spoon. Discard any uneaten portion.

^ Water can be substituted with baby’s usual milk if desired. When prepared with breast milk, it may become more watery. Reduce quantity of breast milk added to achieve desired consistency. Extra nutrients will be provided if made up with breast milk or infant formula.

    My LO when she 1st started on food loved this. As she got a bit older i started to add fruit to give her some more texture and flavour so its still one of her favourite breakfasts.

  • Easy no fuss

    Easy to make up and baby ate it with no refusal - always a win! We would normally make our own from scratch but would be handy to have some of this on hand for emergencies.

  • So Convenient for Breakfast

    This is the first time using this product and all I’ve got to say is that it is so convenient for the mornings. My son absolutely loved it which I was very surprised with. I would definitely recommend this for when you are starting your baby on solids!!

    My 6 month old son absolutely loved this! I mixed it as per the instructions and I also made it with some pureed fruit put through and he ate it up every time! Will definitely be buying again, it is a great food for little ones. Just a great product for babies.

  • good texture taste

    Cerelac has a good texture, smooth and not too gluggy. Max seemed to like the taste and we tasted it make sure. Max ate hungrily then stopped when he was filled. Easy to prepare and no nasties in it.

  • Tasty quick breakfast

    My nephew loved this cereal and took to it easily. His appetite has increased and it’s so good to see him love having breakfast. His mum adds some fruit purée to this cereal as well. It is easy to find in the shop aisle and is fairly priced. Happily recommend this other mums out there fir them to try with their babies.

    Bub absolutely loves the Cerelac Baby Rice food! Gobbled it up did not fuss about. I love that it's not only enjoyable to bub, but full of iron and probiotics!! WIN WIN!

    I have used cerelac with my first born child and now with second i used it again. She loved it. Very easy to prepare and taste nice. You can do variations too by adding mashed banana and other fruits for the little ones to try. I’m very satisfied with it

  • Convenient First Food

    My LO loved this as his first food, he ate it regularly as breakfast - it was so quick and easy to make and as he got older it became more textured.. we did BLW so it was nice for him to have some sort of soft food too, I knew he was eating something well.

    Initially my son didn’t like the “little bits” in it. But has gotten use to it and loves it. He will often go to the cupboard in the afternoon and bring the box to me. So I’ll wip up a small bowl for a treat snack.

  • Good start for a bub

    Great easy way to start your bub on solids. In easy to use convenient packaging. The rice cereal can be made up with cooled boiled water, formula and you can add some purees such as apple or pears to sweeten it. You could even add some sweet potato for a different flavour or texture. It is a super affordable product and is enjoyed by my baby.

  • Really good for my baby

    My daughter really liked eating this at 9 months but around 13 months she stopped eating it. I would highly recommend it for baby ages. She usually likes plain food but didn't like anything mushy after a while. It must have been the texture. I will be using this for my baby on the way.

  • Excellent source of nutrition for young ones.

    I tried Cerelac Baby Rice cereal on all 3 of my children. Honestly at the start it didn't get taken well by them they had to get used to it. After awhile 2 of my children loved it mixed with fruit puree. My daughter however never took to the taste of it unfortunately, but I would recommend this product as its great for baby, its cheap to buy and great nutrition for them.

    Easy to use and worked perfectly to fill my little ones belly. Would go down a treat with some banana mashed in, otherwise it would be too bland for my picky eater.

    My daughter absolutely loved this cerelac she was going crazy for more I had to put the plate in front of her mouth to feed her faster and then she went for a second plate. She hasn't stopped eating it since I got the opportunity to trial this out!! Thank you Mouths of Mums for the great trial. It's definitely a win win in my house hold and I guarantee you it will be a win in other households as well.

  • A quick convinient pack of baby first food

    Its a good food on the go. Very easy to prep and can be mixed with other food puree such as avocado, pumpkin or banana.

    However my daughter does not really like rice cereal so it was not a big hit for her. Overall its still a good product.

7 Simple Ideas That’ll Save You Hours Every School Week

If every school week is more like an episode of Survivor at your place, don’t worry, you’re not alone! The struggle to stay on top of the school week mayhem is real – so we’ve put together a bunch of clever ideas to give you back some precious time (and sanity).

There’s nothing difficult about these tips, just solid advice and ideas from a mum who’s been in the school trenches for over a decade.

1. Teach The Kids To Make Some Simple Breakfasts

Hang on, this is about breakfast, why are we showing you a picture of mouth-watering cookies?! These are Four Ingredient Healthy Breakfast Cookies – perfect for a prep-ahead school day brekkie!

Depending on their age there are so many safe and easy breakfasts kids can make themselves. From toasties, to yoghurt pots prepped the night before or just cereal. Not having to make breakfast for everyone will literally save you hours every week!

2. Lay Out Clothes For The Week

Use a hanging organiser or labelled baskets for each day. Include uniforms, socks and undies. Kids can dress themselves without the drama of missing items. I’ll be honest, my kids’ uniforms are expensive, so I wash during the week as they only have a couple of sets. However, if nothing else, having just socks and underwear sorted for the week is an absolute lifesaver!

 

The other huge help is not having to pre-treat stains on my kids’ uniforms, nobody has time for that during the week! My extra tip here is to use a great quality laundry detergent that is powerful enough to remove stains in-wash, so you don’t need to worry about pre-treating. 3. Use A Family Calendar System

 

Whether it’s a wall planner, a shared phone calendar or a digital calendar, you need everyone to be able to track all activities, due dates and after-school commitments in one place. It also helps gives the kids a a sense of responsibility and doesn’t leave everything on your shoulders!

4. Plan A Weekly School Admin Session

Answer school emails, sign permission forms, top up canteen accounts and check term calendars in one go instead of daily interruptions. You may only need to do this fortnightly or monthly, but just make sure you schedule it in your calendar. Trust me, it saves so much time compared to juggling things bit by bit!

5. Quick-Fire Cleaning Sessions

Set a timer for ten minutes in the afternoon, pop on some music and everyone tidies their zone. This includes the kids emptying their lunchboxes, washing their drink bottles, handing you any notes and putting their clothes in the wash. Small bursts like this stop the house turning into chaos by Friday.

6. Have A Snack Station

Keep a drawer or fridge shelf filled with ready portions. Kids can pack their own snacks for school, and also grab something to eat when they get home. Think ahead and include them in the weekly shopping – ask them what snacks they would like (and cross your fingers they’ll still like them all week!).

7. Set Up A Family Charging Station

One spot for iPads, laptops and phones. No searching for chargers or discovering a dead laptop ten minutes before school! Make sure each child puts their school device on charge when they get home, as part of their Quick-Fire Cleaning Session.

While we can’t promise your school weeks won’t have moments of chaos, taking some of these tips on board will save you time – even if it’s just five minutes here and there. It’s about building realistic habits for the whole family, that will hopefully bring some calm to the school week.

  • There are some great ideas here! I just use an old school paper calender but its so helpful to remember all the important dates – i always buy a family planner one so theres columns for each of us to write what were doing om certain days so we never run out of space! I need a snack station, but struggle to have healthy (or healthier) choices in the cupboard apart from the usual chips, rice crackers and museli bars!

  • There are some good hints here! I already do have a little snack station in my pantry – a large container filled with all sorts of bars, etc. It’s the first place the kids look for something to eat. I do like the idea of a charging station but I don’t think it would work in my house. Everyone seems to like charging things in their room and it could look messy with multiple cords.

Most of these I already do but it has reminded me to add a few other things to my list to organise before the school year starts in a couple of weeks. Helpful tips like this are so great as you can never remember everything and this sure has given me a few extra things to think about.

  • We do daily life admin because it simply makes life easier to stay on top of everything that is required to run a family and household. Planning and organisation is so vital for every family and for a household. It really is very important to stay on top of all things at all times.

  • I love this article. I can relate to a lot of these ideas. For instance, I have a snack shelf in my pantry so my kids can choose and pack their own snacks. No more asking them what they want. We also have a family charging station in the kitchen. iPads, laptops and phones are only allowed to be charged on the kitchen bench. I love the healthy cookies. I must give these a go. The family calendar system is a must too!

  • I totally agree with most of these. We bought some inexpensive cereal dispensers, and that made mornings much easier. And school admin? For me, that is every Wednesday right before a regular appointment. It fitted in perfectly, I never overlooked anything, and if I didn’t need it it was a glorious burst of free time.

  • I love this article and the tips and already follow many of them. I have always been a big fan of schedules and planners and they simply make sense and make sure everyone in the family is on task. I also love snack stations; one for the fridge and one for the pantry; again it makes sense and makes preparing food and lunchboxes and snack times easy.
